HOPKINSVILLE, Kent. – Through its partnership with Bowling This Month magazine, Hammer sponsored The BTM in July 2008 at Best Western Barcelona and served as the official equipment brand for the tournament. Now in its sixth year, The BTM continues to be the fastest growing side tournament held in conjunction with the USBC Open tournament.

“Sponsors like Hammer, Kegel and our host hotel have helped make this tournament possible,” said tournament director Rick Ramsey.

Winners of the event included:

•Pete Thomas who shot a clean four-game block for $10,000
•Triple-winner Mark Sullivan who won the Open Singles (982), 8 Game Singles (1843) and Alibi Singles (762)
•Jason Guest and Jason Poli shot 1777 for the Open Doubles title
•Steve Hartman and Lonnie Sharkey who tied for Senior Singles with 902 blocks
•Terry Leong and Sam Carter won the Senior Doubles with a 1732 – this division of the tournament grew by 40 percent in 2008
•Gordon Kilpatrick won the 8 Game total for Seniors
•Vinnie Atria captured the Super Senior
•Ken Abner used his 937 scratch score in the Handicap division and then teamed with his wife, Caroline, to win the Mixed Doubles
