Twelve-year-old Jessie Mapp III, of Saint Louis, bowled his very first 300 on Feb. 14, 2009 using a Hammer Black Widow Venom. 

Jessie III, who has been bowling since he was 1-year-old, managed the fete of a perfect game before his father. 

“It was exciting,” Jessie III said. “Like it wasn’t real.” 

The Cross Keys Middle School student is on a traveling team and has aspirations to be on the high school team one of these days. 

Jessie III said he likes the way the Hammer balls perform. 

“My Daddy drilled it to hook better,” he said. “I like it when the ball hooks and goes deep and comes back.” 

Jessie Mapp II, Jessie’s dad, said he used to bowl with a Hammer 3D and that was why they purchased the Black Widow Venom. 

“I used to tell him stories about that ball,” he said. 

Jessie III has always been a bowler, Jesse II said. 

“At 1 he would not bowl on the bumpers,” he said.  

The boy’s perfect game is quite exciting, Jessie II said. 

“It was unbelievable,” he said. “He always said he wanted to do it before I did and he did.”
