HOPKINSVILLE, Kent.
Hammer staffer Tony Reyes earned a coveted 2006-2007 Tour exemption by winning "The Final Frame by the Denny's PBA Tour", a special event held on December 10.
Taking $10,000 and the title at ABC West Lanes in Mechanicsburg, Pa.,
Reyes says this win is an early Christmas gift. "This win has changed
my perspective and allowed me to loosen up."
The four finalists, Reyes, Joe Ciccone, Rick Steelsmith and Tore
Torgersen, were paired with four exempt players that served as
"coaches" and team members. Jason Couch served as Reyes' coach and the
pair defeated Torgersen and Danny Wiseman, his coach, seven strikes to five.
Reyes, a San Bruno, Calif. resident, used the Big Rig Diesel and the High Rev balls from his Hammer arsenal.
"The Big Rig Diesel strikes more than any ball I have ever thrown,"
said Reyes, in his first year as a Hammer Tour staffer. "The equipment
makes a difference. That's why I throw Hammer."
"The Final Frame presented by the Denny's PBA Tour" will air Sunday, December 25 on ESPN at 1 p.m. EST.
