HOPKINSVILLE, Kent.
After a very successful national event in Reno, Nevada, Bowling This Month and Hammer have agreed to sponsor a series of weekend events patterned after "The BTM" tournament. The events, called "The BTM On the Road," will be presented by Rick Ramsey, veteran tournament manager and event coordinator, who has managed "The BTM" tournament the past five years.

"Hammer is committed to supporting and building the game through various sponsorships and programs," said Hammer brand manager, Brian Graham. "This year was our first year to work with Bowling This Month on "The BTM" national event and we found it very rewarding on a number of levels.

"Not only did we meet some of the most talented bowlers in the sport today, we had the opportunity to showcase our brand and work with bowlers out in the field as they competed with our products. It gave us an insight into what bowlers need from their equipment and areas in which we could help them better their games through our product design. When offered this opportunity to take "The BTM" on the road, we couldn't resist."

Each event will be USBC Sport certified and contested on the flat oil condition utilized by "The BTM." The format will be four games across eight lanes, multiple entry singles and will offer the popular crossover doubles. Squads will be scheduled for Saturday and Sunday allowing bowlers to participate either or both days. A minimum of $800 will be added to each tournament with a projected first place of $1500.

The first tournament is scheduled for September 22-23 at Bowl Haven Lanes in Alton, Illinois, followed by:

• Nutmeg Bowl, Fairfield, Connecticut, September 29-30
• Wonderland Lanes, Livonia, Michigan, October 20-21
• Fox Bowl, Wheaton, Illinois, October 27-28
