DOUG KENT WINS USBC MASTERS WITH HAMMER’S BLACK WIDOW
11/02/2006
HOPKINSVILLE, Kent.
Using Hammer’s high-powered Black Widow ball, pro staff
member Doug Kent has added yet another title to his personal roster, the USBC
Masters. This title makes Kent’s ninth since joining the Tour in 1988.
"Taking home a title in the first few weeks of the season is certainly a high
for any player, especially a Masters title," said Kent, called ‘Fresh’ by his
fellow Tour players. "The Black Widow gives me the entry angle I need while providing
powerful hitting power on the backend so I knew I could count on this ball to
take me to the winner’s circle."
Currently ranked 22nd in PBA World Point Rankings, Kent ended last season with
a 223.17 average and a win at the GEICO Classic in his home state of New York.
A resident of Newark, Kent is known as being one of the most consistent players
on the Tour having captured one title in seven different seasons. He has also
made more than 170 match appearances during his career and has cashed in over
270 events, bringing his total winnings to over $1.2 million. A right-hander,
the 2006-2007 season is Kent’s second season as a Hammer pro staff member.
