EBONITE INTERNATIONAL INTRODUCES PRO SHOP TOUCH

HOPKINSVILLE, KY – Ebonite International has introduced its new Pro Shop Touch digital catalog application for Android and Apple tablets, and the app is available to pro shops now through the Android and Apple markets.

“We’ve seen the growth in the digital market in the last year, and felt strongly that we needed to be there,” said Bob Reid, VP Marketing for Ebonite International. “It’s important that we give our pro shop customers the support they need to market our products, and this is a huge step in the right direction to do so.”

Pro Shop Touch allows pro shop operators to pull up information on any Ebonite International product across all six consumer brands: Ebonite, Hammer, Columbia 300, Track, Robby’s and Powerhouse. Not only does the app display specs about those products, but there are also a wide range of videos included which have not previously been available. In addition, new videos and content will be added as the year progresses, to keep the pro shops on top of new releases.

Pro Shop Touch Digital Product Guide is available free for both your Android based tablet/phone and your Apple iPad.

In addition to supporting pro shops with the Pro Shop Touch app, Ebonite International is also offering a tablet for sale at a discounted rate. For $400, pro shops can purchase an ASUS tablet, including an HDMI cable to connect to any HDMI input device. Gold Pro Shop Program members can use redemption dollars to purchase the tablet, or they may substitute four of the eight bowling balls they receive as part of the Pro Shop Gold registration package.

“Our Pro Shop Gold members will jump on this opportunity,” said Mike Judy, National Sales Manager. “The app was debuted at Bowl Expo this summer, and the pro shops in attendance were excited to see it. There were so many pro shops asking for the application, we moved our launch plans up, so that the app is available prior to the start of the 2011/2012 bowling season.”

Rich Jacobson, owner of Great Balls of Fire Pro Shop in White Plains, NY, has been using a beta version in his pro shop for approximately a month, and says it has enhanced his sales tremendously.

“Before I had the Pro Shop Touch app, a customer would walk into my pro shop and see a sea of balls on the wall,” Jacobson explained. “A bowling ball sitting on a wall cannot sell itself. Now I can pull up a video of that ball, and show the customer the ball motion and specs for that ball. It gives me an opportunity to back up what I’m telling them with visual proof of what that product will do for them, and why or why not it’s the ball for that bowler’s style and game.”
