HAMMER’S O’NEILL READY FOR BIG THINGS IN 2012/2013

Hammer’s Bill O’Neill is gearing up for another great year representing Hammer on the PBA Tour, his fourth year with the brand.

“I am very happy to sign with Hammer for the fourth year in a row,” said O’Neill. “This company has done so much for me in the last three years. It’s an honor to be able to continue that partnership.”

The ‘partnership’ O’Neill mentioned included the launch of Hammer’s Save Bowling initiative, which is a fair handicap system for bowlers similar to that used by golfers. In addition, O’Neill represented Hammer at various events throughout the year, from trade shows to charitable events.

After being named Rookie of the Year in 2006, O’Neill’s career gained momentum in 2009/2010, when he won his first two titles, including the US Open. O’Neill followed that season with a great 2010/2011, when he made match play in 10 out of 12 events and won his third title. In 2011/2012, O’Neill had eight top-10 finishes and ranked fifth in average with a 225.85, and 11th in earnings.

O’Neill also became a dominating force in international competition, winning the 42nd Brunswick Ballmaster Open, in Helsinki, Finland.

“This past season wasn’t my best, but with the new product line coming from Hammer, I expect big things for myself in 2012/2013,” said O’Neill.

“Bill has been a great member of our team,” said Jeff Ussery, Hammer Brand Manager. “He’s got tremendous talent and he’s one of the hardest workers on the tour. He’s definitely someone we’ve been able to count on, and we’re proud to continue to work with him.”
