HAMMER NEWSHAMMER’S WIDOW STING CARRIES ZOELLNER TO SUCCESS - Bowler leads in Singles and Doubles events03/01/2010
Toby Zoellner of Perryville, MO recently put on a performance that most bowlers only dream about. While competing in the Greater Ozarks Tournament, held in Springfield, MO., Zoellner’s day started with 24 consecutive strikes and ended with a commanding lead in the Singles portion of the tournament. Zoellner, who entered the tournament with a 203 average, rolled games of 300-300-233 for an amazing 833 series to leap to the top of the leader board in this season’s standings. He quickly followed that series up with games of 248-277-193 during his doubles set for a six game total of 1551, which he also now leads. “It was overwhelming. I had never bowled back-to-back 300’s, and then to do it in a tournament like this was totally awesome,” Zoellner exclaimed. Zoellner, who says he only uses Hammer brand bowling balls, used a newly purchased Black Widow Sting during his impressive day of bowling. “Toby used his Hammer ball to take a monster lead at one of the biggest and most historic tournaments in the central U.S.,” said Jeff Ussery, Hammer Brand Manager. “He threw it great all weekend, and we’re proud to have the Hammer Black Widow Sting in his bag!” When asked what it is he likes so much about his Hammer bowling equipment, Zoellner responded “I love Hammer! I have always been a huge fan of the Hammer line of bowling balls. Their balls just read the lanes well and they hit like a train. Nothing hits like a Hammer!” Based in Hopkinsville, Kent., Ebonite International is a privately-owned company that currently services bowling centers, distributors and retail outlets both domestically and internationally.
