F.C.C. HOOK RATING

FINISH: Hammer’s Research and Design department has found the absolute best finishing option for each product that we manufacture. Every surface we choose locks that ball into a specific performance on the lane, completing a full lineup of products for all lane conditions. Hammer’s most aggressive surface finish will rank at 10, with our weakest finishing options being a 1.

COVER: Hammer’s coverstocks are not only designed to react a certain way on different lane conditions, they’re also developed to match up with each core to bring out the best qualities in our newest products. Coverstocks contact the lane surface and give Hammer balls that aggressive backend motion that our products are known for. The strongest coverstock systems will start at 10 in our new F.C.C. system, with weaker covers ranking as smaller numbers.

CORE: Cores are the engine that help drive the ball’s motion. Hammer’s got some of the most versatile core systems in bowling, giving us ball reaction from extremely strong to mild in our new ranking system. Look for our stronger cores to be the 9’s and 10’s in the F.C.C. system.

SUMMATION: Hammer’s NEW Finish/Cover/Core Hook Rating System is easy to figure, and gives you more information about the ball than ever before! Add up the three components to get a general hook rating for the ball from 3-30. All 3 of these components have been driving ball motion for years.
