Anger

More Attitude!

The Hammer line gets more attitude with the new Anger! The HK22 coverstock has changed how we develop bowling balls and created endless performance possibilities. We can explore a broader range of core numbers because of HK22’s versatility and strength. Even when shiny, its stronger characteristics in oil allow us to get more out of higher RG core designs than ever before and opens up a new realm of reaction. The Anger’s length and skid-flip motion are unmatched in the Hammer line-up. We started with a modified version of the Infamous core, a dynamic core with a high RG and designed for length. Adding HK22 with CT Reactive Flip additives makes this the most responsive Hammer ball on medium to lighter conditions.

    Hammer Anger

Here is my take on the new Hammer Anger. For the record, this Anger is not a remake of the Hammer Anger from the late 2000's. This new Hammer Anger features a modified Infamous symmetric core (high RG/medium diff) wrapped by a black/red/caramel CT Reactive Flip coverstock with the HK-22 base. Box finish is 1500 Siaair finished with Factory Compound. I drilled one with a 45 x 4 1/4 x 25 layout. I originally tried it at box finish on THS. From what I initially saw, I put it on the spinner and went over the ball with a worn 2000 Siaair pad. I liked it much better with a touch more surface.

The manufacturer's intent for the Anger was to create a quick response ball to complement the Arctic Vibe and Scorpion Sting for lighter to medium volume patterns. I tried the Anger originally on fresh THS and at box surface, I found it to be a touch too quick for my liking. As noted above, I went over the ball with a 2000 pad and liked the ball much better. The Anger still shows plenty of length down the lane. What's interesting is, at least to my eye, the Anger is a touch milder off the spot.. I actually potentially could see this piece on medium to light fresh patterns that are medium to shorter in length. I actually wish I had this new Anger earlier this summer when I hit some tournaments where they had light volume fresh patterns on high friction synthetic surfaces. Given the characteristics of this new piece, I think in particular slower ball speeds and/or rev dominant players might well appreciate the Hammer Anger.

The Hammer Anger is readily available- see your local pro shop for more information.

    Anger from the pins

The only ones angry about this ball are either the pins or the competition.
If you looking for a skid flip in the lower end of your arsenal, this is the ball for you. For me, it sits between my Scorpion strike and my vibe in terms of overall hook. The first game, I wasn’t sure but this seems to be one of those balls that get better as they get used. The more i use it the less i feel that “over/under” reaction and it becomes much more consistant.

    Hammer Anger

The Hammer Anger is a very nice piece for medium to light oil ball. It reminds me of the Ebonite Fireball pearl but with a little more kick and change of direction. You know, that little extra that kicks out pesky corner pins. Many house shots are light volume and that's right where this ball lives. As soon as you see a little transition, switch to the Anger and watch him crush the pocket.

    Anger

This is a really good ball for the dryer Lanes. At first, I thought it was too sharp off the spot then I hit it with a 3000 pad and now I really love this ball.
It Is definitely everything they said it was the perfect ball for places that have lots of friction.
