Maximum Effect

The Maximum Effect is a hook in a box ball. I was hesitant about how to drill this ball, due to the strong HK22C Hybrid cover. I went with a 60 x 5 x 30 layout. The Maximum Effect really surprised me with how easily it cleared the fronts. Very Strong Midlane roll, with a rolly back end motion. Yes, this ball is made for higher volume patterns. However, the maximum Effect really blends out the wet/dry conditions. It took me around 4 to 5 games to get some oil in the ball, then this ball came alive. Very hard to throw this ball through the breakpoint. It takes surface adjustments well. You can definitely call this ball a traction reaction on the lanes, and it is very controllable. This ball will work on higher volume house shots and longer sport patterns. This is another very predictable ball to the Hammer Effect Lineup.

I have had a chance to give my take on the Hammer Maximum Effect. The Maximum Effect is a low RG/higher diff asymmetric core piece of equipment. The coverstock is HK-22 Cohesion Hybrid CFI colored in black/lime/silver/purple. Box finish is 1500 Siaair. I've drilled one with a 50 x 4 x 25 layout. I've tried it on 2025 PBA Scorpion, THS and another high volume 45 foot challenge pattern at box finish.

The Maximum Effect, at box surface, is definitely a ball that will be best suited for fresh high volume patterns. It offers a slower response, more rounded shape which will be a perfect match, as I noted, on high volume fresh patterns. With my normal ball speed (or lack thereof), I see this ball in play on longer distance patterns. Perhaps higher speed players could throw the Maximum Effect on shorter patterns. On the THS, I had to get way inside to keep it in play and use lots of rotation to make sure the ball would go through the pins correctly. On the Scorpion and challenge patterns referenced above, the Maximum Effect showed better results based on the higher volumes of oil and longer distances. On fresh, I see many different styles of play being able to use with success the Maximum Effect.

Most of the centers locally don’t put out much volume. As a medium matched bowler using urethane is a rare option on events that call for it. My choice is a big Asym and a short pin layout. I drilled the Maximum Effect as a replacement to a similarly drilled Hammer Extreme Envy. This was a perfect update. Both balls had CFI and the Maximum has the HK22C base. I can’t wait to try in its environment. I believe speed dominant bowlers may be able to use on their league patterns. As always, a surface adjustment could be needed but roll it a few games before deciding.

One of the strongest balls I've ever thrown! Wow does this ball hook!! Perfect for the fresh or speed dominant players. This will be a favorite of mine for a game one ball. It's a perfect 1-2 punch from the Widow Tour V1. Must have in your bag for sure!!

The maximum effect is absolutely phenomenal. This ball is a great first ball out of your bag if you have any volume in the heads it will track right through it with no problem. This ball is consistent of the break point and does not quit. The surface can be adjusted to provide even more angle through the pocket. With box surface this ball is continuous and hits like a mack truck.

This ball is clean through the heads and turn the corner with no wiggle or jiggle. A true great addition to the Effect Series. With a change of surface to more shine this ball is stronger than the original effect pearl.

This ball is not for the timid. This ball will get through the oil with no problem and provide a great midlane read and go through the pocket hard.
