Lat in the2022/2023 season I bought first Hammer bowling ball in 10 years. The Black Widow 2.0. I bumped my average up 12 pins (202 to 214). When that ball started dying I thought long and hard about getting another 2.0 but ended up getting the 3.0 This ball seemed to hook a bit more but was not as angular as the 2.0. I finished the 2023/2024 season with 218. 5 weeks into 2024 i am at 236. I've made some changes in my game which I am sure helped me out. I've been working out so I am stronger. I am throwing the ball a bit faster and getting a few more revs on it. I am getting out of the ball more consistently. But Dang...I got to give some credit to this ball (both the 2.0 and 3.0).
3rd game thrown was a 300 with this one. This ball is so versatile as I can play it "deep and steep" with a ton of angle, or I can play it "skinny" with a little less hand in it. This ball is a killer on several of the house patterns I roll and I landed a 719 the first night with it on Carbon. Right now, I am throwing 16 pins over my average when using this ball across 3 different patterns on 3 different leagues, Carbon, Main Street, and Helium. This one also gets saturated quickly after about 10 games and needs a little "sauna" time to get it back to being reliable. In tournaments, I bring this ball no matter what as I can throw it on long, short, and even flat patterns.
Great ball for more oily conditions. A way better step up than my past ball. Looks good and feels good too. Highly recommend for people looking for stronger ball.
I like this ball on strike's, but this ball does not hook that much on a 42-45ft oiling pattern
The widow, is perfect. I am beyond happy with its performance and how much it has changed my game. I am like a little kid every time we go to the alley.
