Hammer Scandal/S 45x4.5x35 Midlane. I loved the Scandal and Scandal Pearl-must have something to do with "Carbon Fiber Infusion!" This Hybrid is an awesome ball, predictable curve and useable from any angle. Shot 268 with it first time back bowling after some rehab after a ruptured tendon in September at a PBA Regional.
Haven’t not owned any of the previous scandals, I was unbiased when throwing it. The first thing I noticed was that this ball was benchmark reaction on pretty much anything I bowled on. I got a clear picture of each pattern throwing this ball, and it really helped me stay in the game and predict which ball would be next. Reads the mids very well and blends the pattern better than any piece
I’ve thrown so far. Just a predictable, strong ball. Will fit in anyone’s arsenal!
This ball is my go to if I need a little earlier roll. Smooth arc, continues through the pins.
This ball is clean and strong for sure. The cover lets me get it through the front part of the lane with a very continuous move off the spot. I like the way it revs up quick without dying out on the backend...it has some good energy when it hits the pins. For me, it works best for the fresher oil patterns and for those patterns that tend to be over/under. Great benchmark ball. Don’t be afraid to change the surface either!!
I found the Scandal/S to be a great ball on a wide variety of patterns. If you have some volume to your house pattern, it will look great on that along with having a great look on tighter, tournament patterns. I drilled mine with a 40 x 4 x 35 layout, which gives me a strong read in the midlane with a very controlled motion off of the spot. A strong symmetrical core with a strong hybrid cover create a perfect blend of strength and control.
