I've been using a Rebel Yell for the past five or six years. I bought one the last year that they were on the market. Over a 9-week span this season in my league, I averaged 212 using the Rebel Yell. I restored the ball after I bought it because it was kind of worn out. I needed to restore it again right after the beginning of the season and my average has been as high as 199. Last season, my average was only 189. I also own a 3D Offset. But I prefer the Rebel Yell.
I bought a Rebel Yell a few years ago and I love it. When I first bought it, I didn't use the ball for over a year. But for the past four years, it has become my main bowling ball. I had to purchase a lighter weight ball than I was using because I developed arthritis, but this was the only one that worked for me. At the beginning of this year, I bought a Hammer 3D Offset (same weight as the Rebel Yell), but in order to make a 10-pin spare, I have to use the Rebel Yell. The 3-D Offset hooks too much for me to make the 10-pin as a right-handed bowler.
This is the type of ball that is always in my bag. There have been times when i missed my mark by 4 or 5 boards and this ball still found the pocket. This ball is an amazing tournament ball and will stay in my bag until I find something similar from Hammer.
The Rebel Yell is a great go to ball later in a set and will allow you to play a deep inside line with the power to kick the corners. Between the awesome color combination and the smooth roll on the lanes, you’ll definitely get a lot of attention. Doesn’t hurt to YELL like a REBEL while you’re at it.
My last PBA cash is basically owed completely to the Rebel Yell. This ball is special in many ways but my favorite has to be how great it rolls under all surfaces. If I'm close I know I can get there with a little change. Not to mention how sweet it looked for Andrew Anderson on TV.
